It's not always easy to work with a stack of random sketch/journal pages and quickly build a uniform, consistent format and presentation.
Single Source Control Doc
Make Typographic clips from a single source document. Stay in control of your story. Update one control document, revise all instances of a format or content change throughout DreamFlo.
The Ruby Clip Editor is where you make Ruby Clips. The heart of a Ruby Clip is something called a Ruby Shape - that magenta colored material that conforms to the shape of your design on your sketch page. Ruby Shapes are transparent and 'float' over your sketch page. It is fast and easy to 'pull' vector handles and control the position, and size of Ruby Shapes to make Ruby Clips.
Working With The Ruby Clip Precision Editor
The Ruby Clip Editor extracts parts and pieces out of your sketch page. The process results in separate art elements that can be freely manipulated when arranging digital sketchbooks and designing Dreamflo storyboards, animatics, and mockups.
The idea of expanding picture book illustration projects to animation began in the Summer of 2015. In trying to establish some of the core methods and procedures, I put together a very short picture book, a Chinese version of The New Garden, translated by my wife, Linda. It was published as a Kindle ebook and paperback versions in August of 2015. The front matter of the book has a reference to using Dreamflo to develop and produce the book (See below). The book is still available on Amazon. Paperback $9.95 USD
Hi, I'm Chris Hammond. Back in 2015, I began working on a visual development workflow for picture book illustrators using Adobe Flash and vCam.
